Who we are
VIBING network publishes a group of independent online magazines (music, film, cities, culture). The publications and this page are run by VIBINGnetwork, Berlin. Contact: info@vibingnetwork.com.
What the magazines keep about a reader
- Server logs. Every request leaves the usual web-server log line (address, page, time, browser) for a short time, used only to keep the sites running and to spot abuse.
- Contact and submission forms. What you type into a form — your name, address, message, any files — is sent to the publication's editors by e-mail and kept only as long as the correspondence needs.
- Analytics. Some publications use Google Analytics with IP addresses shortened; it tells the editors which pieces are read, not who reads them.
- Embedded players. Records and videos are played through Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube or Vimeo; those services see your request when a player loads, under their own policies.
- Cookies. The public sites set none of their own. Embedded players may set theirs.
Instagram and Facebook
The publications keep Instagram and Facebook accounts. Those accounts are connected to our own content system through a Meta app named VIBING, so that a piece a magazine publishes can also be posted to its own account. The app is used only with accounts that belong to VIBING network.
- What the app reads. For each connected account: its id, username and account type, and the posts the app itself made. It reads nothing about the account's followers, and nothing about anyone who follows, likes or comments.
- What the app writes. Posts on the connected account: a picture, a caption and a link to the piece.
- What is stored. The account's id and username and an access token, on our own server, for as long as the account stays connected; the id and address of each post made, on the piece it belongs to.
- No third-party data. The app does not ask other people to log in, and it holds no data about Instagram or Facebook users other than our own accounts.
Removing your data
A connected account can withdraw the app at any time in Instagram (Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites) or in Facebook (Settings → Apps and websites); Meta tells us, and the token is deleted on our side at once. Anything else — a form you sent, a request to be left out of the logs — is handled by mail to info@vibingnetwork.com. A data-deletion request made through Meta reaches the same address and is answered with a confirmation code.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to a supervisory authority. Write to info@vibingnetwork.com.
